The Priory School A Level and GCSE Examination Results

The August A Level and GCSE results days are a rite of passage that we have all been through. Many of us will remember the sleepless night beforehand, the waking up at an unearthly hour on the morning itself and then the journey to school.

The increased rigour of both the A Level and GCSE exams has raised the bar for schools. With excellent support from our parent body, and the professionalism and dedication of The Priory School staff, our students have once again excelled in their exams.

Our Year 13 students achieved a wonderful set of results, with some notable successes:

Natasha Antony: A* A* A*
Philippa Christey-Reid: A* A A
Joanna Church: Distinction* A A
Odysseas Kalatzis: A* A* A* B
Emma Murray: A* A* A*
Oliver Collins: A* A* A*
Meg Stephenson: A* A* A* A*

Not to be outdone, our Year 11 students who faced the first year of the new GCSEs surpassed our expectations. There was a definite nervous tension in the air as the students came in to pick up their results, but within moments of opening their envelopes there were plenty of smiles, which was captured by a BBC Look East production team. There were some fantastic results this year:

Issac Gianfrancesco: Nine grade 9s, one grade 8 and one A*
Torin Burrows: Five grade 9s, four grade 8s, one A* and one A
Veer Thandi: Four grade 9s, five grade 8s, one grade 7 and one A
Grace Ramsey: Two grade 9s, six grade 8s, one grade 7, one A* and one distinction
Henry Croft: Two grade 9s, six grade 8s, one grade 7, one A*, three As and one distinction

Quote from the Headteacher:

“I am extremely proud of the achievements of these young people who are a true credit to the community in which they live.”
