TPS Fundraising and Charity Work

Our work with Humanitas is continuing to flourish and events continued to run over the second half of the Autumn term.

A massive thank you to those students who put themselves forward to create the following three videos for Humanitas:

November: Reader Leader – video  of older students reading with younger students
December: Video Christmas message from students
January: Tour of the school

We look forward to receiving the videos back from our partner school in Ayensuako very soon. These will be shared via the Daily Bulletin.

A massive thank you to Year 13 BTEC students who chose Humanitas as their charity for their assignment. In total, they raised £270 from a staff charity football match, bake sale and quiz night.

On Open Evening, we had a Humanitas stand. A massive thank you to charity rep Isaac for helping out on the night and talking to parents about the work that we do to support Humanitas.

On the final day of the Autumn term, we held the annual KS3 Christmas Extravaganza run by students from Year 7 to Year 9. A collection of stalls were set up in the sports hall where students could try to win a variety of prizes. Mr Freeland held his annual Christmas quiz in the gym which was another roaring success! A huge thank you to all of the students who volunteered for this and to form tutors for helping to orchestrate it. All proceeds went to support Humanitas.

In total, for the whole of the Autumn term, we (as a school) raised over £1,000 to support Humanitas and the work they are doing in Ghana to promote equality and education. Well done to everyone and anyone who has participated in an event or helped organise something.
