Update: ESFA U13 Schools’ Cup

On Monday 13th January the U13 girls football team travelled to Bromley in Kent for Round 5 of the ESFA national cup to play Hayes School.

On a very muddy pitch and in windy conditions, the girls put in a fantastic first half performance to lead 3-0 at half time, with goals from Ruby Seaby (2) and Daisy Morris. We continued to create chances in the second half, coming close on many occasions. Leah Robinson put in an excellent second half performance in goal to keep the hosts from scoring. Despite this we conceded two goals bringing the score to 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. Both teams continued to attack, but our resilience showed through with an excellent defensive performance in the last 10 minutes to run out 3-2 winners.

The girls will go on to play either Southend High School for Girls or Blenheim High School in Round 6. Date tba.

Well done to Leah, Cerys, Meeley, Hattie, Maddy, Ruby, Harrie, Daisy, Annalise, Lily and Olivia.
