Year 7 Transition

9th July Update

Please look out for information being sent home today regarding transition to The Priory School. You can find all of the new video clips and introductions here: bit.ly/TPS_Transition.

Update 2nd July 2020

Thank you to all the students who have completed our survey and we hope you are enjoying the Q&A video clips on Twitter https://twitter.com/tps_transition.

A selection of transition activities are being sent to your primary schools. We hope you will find time to complete some of these at home or school on the day of 9th July or during the summer. If you are learning at home, then your primary school will need to be contacted to arrange the best way to collect this work. A detailed communication will be sent to parents on 9th July with information about tutor groups and the start of school in September, as well as links to videos to meet tutors, the Headteacher and the Head of Year 7. A link to a copy of this letter will be at the bottom of this page from 9th July.

Update June 22nd 2020

We have completed all of our meetings with Year 6 teachers to learn more about the wonderful Year 6s coming our way in September. We are really sorry not to able to invite you all in to meet us and get to know the school but we hope that the information sent is helping you to learn a little more.

Remember to have a look at our 360 tour – http://priorysch.uk/360 – and to click on the icons in the tour to see some pictures and video clips of what life is like here. Also look out for the Q&A video clips that some of our staff are now posting on Twitter to give you some answers to the questions you have raised. You will be able to see all of these on Twitter transition page here: https://twitter.com/tps_transition

Keep an eye out for your invitation to the live Q&A sessions with Mr Findon and Mr Freeland if you signed up for one in the recent survey.

Year 7 Transition Information – Academic Year 2020/2021

Welcome To Year 7 at TPS!

We look forward to welcoming you all on board your journey through secondary school. There are lots of exciting opportunities ahead and each of you will be part of a 210-strong year group.

Over the next few weeks, information about primary visits, uniform, induction days and more will be sent out to parents. Clearly we are in slightly uncertain times as the school closures due to coronavirus continue so the dates below and those given to you in further communications are subject to change. We will aim to keep this page updated and also to let you know of any changes via email.

We hope each and every child will be visited at their primary school by the end of this school year and you might like to make a note of the Induction day and evening events that will be happening here on Thursday 9th July. If your child attends a school where only one or two students are likely to come to The Priory School, there is also a further transition morning on Wednesday 1st July. Details about all events will follow in due course.

In the meantime, you can keep in touch with developments at the school via our website (www.priory.herts.sch.uk) and our Twitter feeds (@TPS_Hitchin and @TPS_Transition). If you would like to start exploring uniform purchases, please visit the Beat School Uniform shop in Hitchin who supply us.

Once again, welcome to our school community. We will be in touch soon with further details about what happens between now and September.
