Some of you may be considering a gap year after your Sixth Form study and before higher education. You may have a variety of reasons for considering a gap year, which could include:
- To take a break from education
- To earn money to use for your higher education
- To travel to different parts of the world and experience other cultures

It is better to arrange a place in higher education prior to your gap year, then you do not have to keep visiting school to complete the UCAS form.

Ensure that you tell your Head of Sixth that you are considering a gap year and what you want to do. A great deal of information on gap is available.

If you want to complete a voluntary period of work overseas, companies operating schemes want payment for transport and accommodation. E.g. GAP activity projects charge up to £1600 for a three-month project.
