Online Safety is a core area of importance for our school, for parents and carers, and for our students. It is an area that requires constant monitoring and vigilance to help ensure that our students are kept safe and well when using technology, the Internet and social media.

Keeping Students Safe Online

As a school, we offer multiple ways to ensure our students are kept up to date with the latest Online Safety information and understand how to make safe and responsible choices when using technology.

  • Regular assemblies regarding issues surrounding Online Safety
  • Online Safety content in lessons across every year group and multiple subjects
  • Online Safety-based RSHE activities
  • Participation in the annual Safer Internet Day
  • Availability for discussion and information during parent information evenings
  • Online Safety content in the school newsletter

Online Safety Education

We continually strive to ensure that our students are kept safe and well when using the Internet, social media and other forms of technology.

Dedicated Online Safety lessons take place within Year 7 Computing lessons, with the content regularly reviewed and updated to reflect the changing online environment and the issues that young people may encounter.

Support for Parents & Carers

We are happy to share resources with parents and carers who would like more information or guidance about keeping children safe online, including help with privacy and safety settings on a variety of websites and services.

Please contact the Online Safety Lead if you would like further information or support.

Online Safety Concerns

If you have any concerns regarding Online Safety, please contact the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (Mrs Nearney) via the main school number or email her directly.
