Ben Turner
Co-opted Governor
Committees: Finance & Resources
I have over 30 years of experience working in HR in the investment banking and asset management sectors, mainly in performance and reward, mergers & acquisitions and HR systems. In 2021 I went part time and began doing voluntary work, mostly wildlife conservation activities. I am now retired from active employment and engaged in various voluntary activities, largely focused on woodland and habitat management.
I feel the core values and inclusive ethos of TPSH offers students the opportunities to discover and develop their talents and build resilience, providing a springboard for them to excel in their lives beyond school and I hope, as a governor, I can make a contribution to support TPSH in delivering this for each and every student.
I have lived in and around Hitchin for over 35 years, having grown up in Berkshire. I am married and have two adult daughters; one of whom is now an English teacher in Luton. I am a trustee of our village hall and a parish councillor.
I enjoy gardening and walking our two energetic dogs and am a hobby beekeeper. I like baking and exploring the wonderful variety of flavours food can offer.
