Kieran Murphy

I am the Director of Phase Hitchin, a youth charity dedicated to building the wellbeing and resilience of young lives. Since joining Phase in 2007, I have led the vision, mission and strategy of the charity, while also overseeing fundraising and grant development. Over this time, the work has grown to reach every primary and secondary school in Hitchin, something I am immensely proud of. Alongside my leadership role, I continue to work face-to-face with young people, as the same passion to see young lives thrive still drives me forward. Before this, I worked for a youth charity supporting secondary schools in Luton, which gave me valuable experience in education, youth work and community partnerships.

I became a governor because I am motivated by seeing positive change and impact. I believe in the power of education to stretch learning, raise aspirations and help every young person discover their potential. Serving as a governor at The Priory School is an opportunity to share my skills and experience in youth wellbeing, leadership and community engagement, while also learning from others and contributing to the school’s continued success.

Outside of work, I am married with two children and play an active role in my local community. I help to lead the youth group at my church, run a men’s community football group that I’ve been part of for nearly 20 years, and enjoy keeping active myself. I’m also a keen film fan and follow the ups and downs of Luton Town Football Club with great interest.
