The year 12 Performing arts students performance of “Dada in the style of Antonin Artaud” was a huge success on Wednesday 22nd July.
The students broke out of the confines of the studio space and performed a series of stylised physical pieces in 12 separate venues around the school. The audience of over 80 parents and students were led through soundscapes and tableau into nightmarish surreal pieces of performance devised by the students lasting over 90 minutes. For some of the audience this was their first taste of immersive theatre and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
This unit of the Performing Arts course stretches and challenges the ideas and concepts of the performers and the audience and is an approach that is unique locally to The priory School, forming part of the outstanding Arts opportunities available for learners.
