Congratulations to Hannah!

We are exceptionally proud and pleased to announce that Hannah Price in Year 11 has just been voted as one of the top 50 Patient Leaders in the NHS as voted for by HSJ (Health Service Journal). On 7th July Hannah attended an awards ceremony in Birmingham where the journal was presented to all 50 Patient Leaders from across the country. Impressively, Hannah is the youngest patient leader in the UK! Hannah received this accolade due to her fantastic nationwide NHS campaign “SPEAK” which is designed to promote positive communication between young patients and clinicians. Hannah has also been lucky enough to win the very coveted Jubilee Award for Service Youth Award and on 30th July Hannah will be visiting the House of Lords to be presented with her award from Baroness Massey of Darwen. We are excited to hear all about her visit to Parliament! Hannah returns to school in September to begin her A-levels where she hopes to be able to go on and study to be a paediatric nurse.

On Thursday 30th July Hannah Price (Year 12) was invited to attend afternoon tea at the House of Lords with Baroness Masey in honor of her Juibilee Award for Outstanding Service. Hannah has been working hard over the past 18 months to launch her NHS campaign (alongside studying for her GCSE’s) to promote effective communication between young people and practioners. Hannah’s campaign entitied ‘SPEAK’ has also enabled Hannah to be welcomed into the top 50 Patient Leaders in the country and countless presentations for health practicioners across the country in Hertfordshire, London and Leeds! A huge congratulations to Hannah for all of her hard work and dedication to this campaign – we are very excited to continue working with Hannah and the Lister Hospital on her campaign in the near future.
