The Priory School in Hitchin has been placed in the top 25% of schools in England for valued-added progress at A Level.
New headteacher, Matt Blayney, said “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this accolade and it is testament to the dedication and hard work of students and staff across the school. I would like to pay particular tribute to our Sixth Form team who work incredibly hard to support all students to achieve highly and secure their chosen pathway, whether that be at university, a degree apprenticeship, or a career in the world of work. I am hopeful that this achievement is one of many that The Priory School will attain as we continue to build a highly aspirational offer for all children in Hitchin and beyond.”
The Priory School is a co-educational comprehensive school based in Hitchin. In May 2023, The Priory School opened its new Sixth Form centre and it has grown rapidly over the past two years, drawing in students from Hitchin, but also Bedfordshire and areas of Hertfordshire outside of Hitchin.
