I am Parent Support Manager for Angels Support Group; a local charity I helped set up and have run for the last 10 years. We support families with children with ADHD or Autistic Spectrum Conditions. I have a degree in Applied Psychology & Sociology, a Certificate of Higher Education in Autism (Children) and a Level 3 Award in Working with Parents. Before Angels I worked in retail, holding various store management and head office positions in Merchandising, Logistics and IT (systems analyst). For the last four years I have been involved in the setting up and running of Herts Parent Carer Forum (HPCI), involving parents of children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) in improving services in Herts, and am currently the Chair. I have been involved in working with Herts County Council and the local NHS bodies in the Herts Pathfinder for the recent SEND reforms. I have lived in Hitchin for 17 years.
