Co-Opted Governor
Committees: Wellbeing & Inclusion and Curriculum & Progress
I am a biologist with a PhD from University College London and over the last 25 years I have led various science-related education and outreach programmes aimed at school students through to post-graduates. I am currently the Chief Strategy Officer at a national institute with responsibility for a wide range of areas including organisational change, skills (of course!) and comms and engagement.
For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for helping young people strive to be their best. As an A-level student I supported a primary school child with their maths and I’ll never forget the look on their face when the maths clicked! Since then, my own career path has focused around education (my own and that of others), training and social and public good.
I took up my first community governor role before my now very active 6-year-old came along. Juggling being a mum, working full time and being a governor certainly keeps me on my toes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. The Priory School is the third school, and my first secondary school, I am fortunate to support and as I continue to learn about the evolving education system I am able to use my own skills to help the education of others.
